Bone broth is the new detox

Bone broth is the new detox

Bone broth has been around for centuries, but it's only recently that it's become popular as a detox drink. And there's good reason for that: bone broth is packed with nutrients that can help improve your health.

Bone broth is made by simmering bones in water for a long time. This releases nutrients like collagen, glycine, and glutamine, which are beneficial for your health.

Here are some of the benefits of bone broth:

  • It helps promote gut health. The glycine in bone broth helps support the gut microbiota and reduce inflammation.

  • It strengthens your immune system. The glutamine in bone broth helps support the immune system and reduce inflammation.

  • It fights inflammation. The collagen in bone broth helps reduce inflammation throughout the body.

  • It supports joint health. The glucosamine in bone broth supports joint health and reduces pain and inflammation.

  • It boosts energy levels. Bone broth is rich in electrolytes, which can help boost your energy levels.

The best way to heal your gut and boost your immune system

Do you know that more than 70 percent of your immune system is located in your gut?

That's why it's so important to keep your gut healthy. A healthy gut means a stronger immune system, which means you'll be less likely to get sick.

There are lots of things you can do to keep your gut healthy and boost your immune system. But one of the best things you can do is eat probiotic foods.

Probiotic foods are foods that contain live bacteria that help improve your gut health. Some of the best probiotic foods include yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut, and kimchi.

You can also take probiotic supplements to improve your gut health. Probiotic supplements contain different types of bacteria than probiotic foods do, so they offer a broader range of benefits.

If you want to improve your gut health and boost your immune system, make sure to eat plenty of probiotic foods and take probiotic supplements.

When the cold and flu season comes around, you want to do everything you can to stay healthy. One thing that is often overlooked is bone broth. Bone broth is a great way to help your immune system stay strong and fight off any infection.

Bone broth is made by boiling bones in water with some herbs and spices. The broth is then strained and typically consumed as a drink or used as a base for soups or stews. Bone broth is high in protein and contains many essential vitamins and minerals, including zinc, magnesium, and potassium. It also contains collagen, which can help keep your skin healthy.

So if you are looking for a way to boost your immune system this cold and flu season, consider adding some bone broth to your diet. It is a cheap, easy, and healthy way to keep yourself healthy!

Spend winter feeling your best with bone broth

The colder weather often has us feeling run down and depleted. This is especially common during the winter when many of us spend our time cooped up indoors. A great way to combat this and feel your best during the winter is by incorporating bone broth into your diet.

Bone broth is made by simmering bones in water for an extended period of time. The long cooking process extracts minerals like calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus from the bones and cartilage, as well as collagen and gelatin which are beneficial for gut health.

Bone broth is a great source of protein and can help to improve joint health, digestion, immunity, and skin health. It can be incorporated into soups, stews, or even drank on its own. Here are a few recipes to get you started:

Chicken Soup with Dumplings

Ingredients:

1 tbsp olive oil 1 onion, diced 3 carrots, peeled and chopped 3 celery stalks, chopped 6 cups chicken stock or broth 1 lb chicken breasts, cut into small pieces 2 cups frozen peas 3-4 dumplings (recipe follows)

Dumplings:

1 cup all-purpose flour 2 tsp baking powder pinch of salt ¼ cup butter, melted ¾ cup milk

Instructions:

In a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat, heat the oil until shimmering. Add the onion, carrots, celery, and chicken stock or broth. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes. Add the chicken breasts and continue cooking until cooked through, about 5 minutes. Stir in the frozen peas and dumplings (see recipe below). Cook until the dumplings are cooked through, about 10 minutes. Serve hot!

Dumplings: In a medium bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt. Stir in the melted butter and milk until just combined.

"Drop" 12 spoonfuls of batter onto a parchment lined baking sheet then freeze for at least 30 minutes before cooking (I usually make these ahead of time). To cook the dumplings: place them in a large pot of boiling water over high heat (you may need to do this in batches) cook for 10-12 minutes or until they float to the surface then remove with a slotted spoon
